Vikki's Split Pea Soup

 This is best made with a leftover meaty ham bone.

1 package (16 oz) dried yellow split peas
8 cups water
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubes
2 large onions, chopped
2 medium carrots, chopped
2 cups cubed cooked ham
1/2 cup chopped celery
5 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
1 tsp dried marjoram
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp sage
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp salt

In a large pot, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat. Cover. Simmer 1/1/4 to 1 1/2 hours until peas and vegetables are tender.
