Cream Cheese Brownies


1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
6 (oz.) chocolate chips
1/4 cup cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnut

Blend cream cheese, egg, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp vanilla with mixer until very smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and set aside. In large bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, 1 1/4 cup sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir in water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Pour chocolate batter into greased 13 x 9 pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture on top and spread with spatula. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cool in pan at room temperature for 2 hours. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
