"It was time to explore the cast iron pan, you know the one that your grandmother cooked everything in. Tried this recipe and it was delicious. Just a note to lessen the baking time, as it continues cooking in the skillet after you take it out of the oven." (December 2011)
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Cream together butter, white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Stir in eggs. Add flour, salt, baking soda. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Spray cast iron pan with cooking spray. Flatten cookie dough mix into pan. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. Cut into 8 square and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
